West Fest

2017 DATES:

Friday, July 7th 5-10pm
Saturday & Sunday, July 8th & 9th 12pm-10pm

West Fest is an annual street festival in Chicago’s West Town Community on Chicago Avenue between Damen Avenue and Wood Street.

What makes West Fest so unique? Since 2004 West Fest stands out from the rest because it is locally planned and managed by the West Town Chamber of Commerce, thus the emphasis is on local offerings and local talent. West Fest features neighborhood retailers and restaurants, fine artists, crafters, and more. The event reflects the eclectic and hip West Town community, and is also known for cutting edge live music.

The West Fest live music stage is booked by Empty Bottle Presents and features current and diverse original live music. The West Fest DJ Stage showcases high profile local, national, and International DJs with an emphasis on Chicago House with Mark Farina, Jesse De La Pena and Derrick Carter regularly featured.

"There is something for everyone at West Fest."
West Fest’s Pet Fest and Kid Fest are big draws. Kid Fest takes place on an adjacent street (Wolcott Street) within the fest site and offers quality children and family activities including pony rides, a kid's stage with live family friendly music, local theatrical performances, vendors, games and more.

“The family and dog friendly atmosphere and activities are a great fit for the West Town neighborhood.”

Pet Fest is 12-6pm Saturday and Sunday sponsored by Canine Crews and Doggy Style Pet Shop. Pet Fest features a charity dog wash, dog obstacle course, paw painting, pet retail booths, tie-dye dog bandana making, paddling pools and plenty of water; plus various pet related demonstrations throughout the day, pet services booths, local veterinarians and canine therapists. All proceeds benefit Alive Rescue and One Tail at a Time, and goodie bags for those humans whom donate or purchase.

There is a $5 donation requested to attend West Fest. 20% of event proceeds benefit Talcott Fine Arts and Museum Academy and Mitchell Elementary School.  The West Town Chamber of Commerce, a 501 C6 non-profit serving the community, produces the event and is the primary benefactor. 100% of Pet Fest activity proceeds benefit local animal shelters, and 100% of Kid Fest activity proceeds benefit Talcott Fine Arts and Museum Academy.
